The Rotary Whidbey Westside
Whidbey Westside is part of the 1.2 million Rotarians around the world who work together to create positive, lasting change in their communities and around the world. From roadside clean-ups to assisting youth centers, camps and equipment for local sports teams and much needed toilets to the small community of Arush Tunisia, Whidbey Westside is making a difference every day.
American Heart Association
February is National Heart Month. The American Heart Association has been a champion at fighting the challenges of heart disease since 1924. Their mission: to build healthier lives, free of cardiovscualr disease and stroke. Working with over 22.5 million donors, they provide public health education, including the importance of healthy lifestyles, CPR education training, science-based treatment guidelines to healthcare professionals, and work to educate lawmakers, policymakers and the public, advocate for changes that protect and improve the health of our communities.
American Cancer Society
The American Cancer Society is a nationwide, community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem. Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, the ACS has 12 chartered Divisions, more than 900 local offices nationwide, and a presence in more than 5,100 communities.
The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals® (ASPCA®) was the first humane society to be established in North America and is, today, one of the largest in the world. A privately funded 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, their mission is “to provide effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals throughout the United States.”
WhidbeyHealth Foundation, is a 501(c)3, brings community members together to raise funds and advocate for outstanding healthcare for everyone on Whidbey Island. Donations to the Foundation are used to purchase equipment, improve facilities, and provide scholarships for employees to improve patient outcomes and experience.
PAWS Wildlife Center is dedicated to rehabililtating sick, injured and orphaned animals, releasing them back into the wild. Their emergency hospital is open 365-days with on-site veterinarians, rehabilitators and specialized recovery facilities. Each year, PAWS cares for nearly 5,000 mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians representing 150 species.
The Feeding America network is the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, unemployment has soared and food insecurity is on the rise. More than 50 million people may face hunger because of coronavirus, including 17 million children. Together with individuals, charities, businesses and government we can end hunger.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue
The goal of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue is to inspire & enable all young people, especially those who need them most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens.
Their dedicated staff in 14 clubs across Bellevue provide over 13,000 youth a positive place focused on helping them achieve academic success, build good character and citizenship and live healthy lifes.
Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation
The Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation mobilizes people and resources to provide access to high quality care and leads research for a cure so people with pulmonary fibrosis will live longer, healthier lives. As the leading patient advocacy organization of pulmonary fibrosis, the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation is committed to funding research to find effective therapies and, hopefully one day, a cure.
